When do the polls open?
The polls will be open from 7am until 10pm on 19 August.
When you do I need to send back my postal vote pack?
If you are voting by post and haven’t yet sent your pack back, it needs to be received by the elections team by 10pm on election day (19 August). If you’ve left it a little late to post it back then as long as your postal pack has a return address of County Hall, Trowbridge, then you can hand deliver it to any Wiltshire polling station on election day. Any postal vote pack that has a Swindon return address can only be returned to Swindon polling stations.
Where’s my polling station?
If you're voting in person, the polling station to visit will be listed on your poll card, please check this before you go to vote as this may have changed since the previous elections in May. You also can also check your nearest polling station by simply entering your postcode at where do I vote?
Do I need my poll card to vote?
You don't need your poll card to vote, but it does help to speed up the process if you do take it with you.
Will there be safety measures in place while I vote?
Unless exempt, please wear a face mask in our polling stations and socially distance at all times. There will also be hand sanitiser for you to use and polling staff will be behind screens. Please also bring your own pen to vote, although we'll have a small supply should you forget to bring one.
Where can I find out more information about the candidates?
Visit Choose my PCC to find out more about those who are standing for election.
Will I be able to attend County Hall on election day if I need to?
Trowbridge Library, which is based at County Hall, will be closed for a day on 19 August as the library space and the exhibition area will be turned into four polling stations for the election.
All other services at County Hall will be open as usual, so you can still visit the reception desk and the Registrations Service – no other libraries in the county will be affected on that day.
When will the result be declared and how I can I find out the result?
The votes will be verified and counted the following day on 20 August, with the final result confirmed on the same day. Keep an eye on our Twitter feed for updates throughout polling day and the count. You can also visit our election pages for more information.
