We have seen damage to the St Aldhelms Mead toilet, smashing of the Chapel windows and damage to the new Cross Hayes toilets.
This has cost the Council over £1000 to rectify and meant closing the toilets at St Aldhelms until the works are complete, and temporarily changing the time of the closure of the new Cross Hayes toilets to 4.30pm until the end of March when the situation will be reviewed.
All the incidents have been reported to the Police and the town council have a logging system in place.
If you witness any such act, please report to the Police via the 101 non-urgent call system and also the town council.
It is very sad to have to report this when the town and its residents are coping with another lockdown. It’s certainly not what the town needs at the moment.
Malmesbury Town Council apologise for any inconvenience caused, whilst recognising its responsibility to protect the local tax payers assets as best it can.
