Thursday 8th May 2025, marks the 80th Anniversary of the end of war in Europe and WWII. Malmesbury Town Council will be joining the nation to come together to remember the millions that paid the ultimate sacrifice fighting and securing the freedom we all enjoy today.
 
We will be lighting the Beacon of Peace at Cuckingstool Mead at 9.30pm. Please join us from 8.30pm.
 
The Proclamation will be read by the Mayor at 8.00am outside the Town Hall on the morning of Thursday 8th May. All welcome to attend.

Attractions to visit include the stunning 12th century Malmesbury Abbey, 15th century Market Cross and the Athelstan Museum with a painting of Malmesbury Abbey by JMW Turner. There are also lovely walks along the River Avon.
