Golden Celebration with twin town of Niebull!

On Friday 24th July 2026 a civic reception was held for our twin town of Niebull, Germany.  Celebrating 50 years of the official Twinning!

The Mayor, Councillor Robert Hastings and Mayoress, Barbara Firth welcomed guests from Niebull including Burgermeister, Thomas Uerschels, Roger Griffin, first Chair of Malmesbury & District Twinning Association, Diana Kluger, Chair of Niebull/Malmesbury group and John Fairhurst, Chair of Malmesbury & District Twinning Association.

The Mayor was presented with the Nolde Foundation's annual ceramic piece 'Guardian Angel'.  This piece is inspired by Emil Nolde's painting 'The Guardian Angel' which was created in 1945.
