“Finding Eliza Carr”

Terry Ransome was with the British Schools Museum in Hitchin when they acquired a needlework sampler, worked by Eliza Tabitha Carr and dated 1865. But who was Eliza? What could they find out about her and her school in Bratton, Wiltshire? This talk tells Eliza’s story.

Rodmarton Manor:the Story of an Arts and Crafts House

Mary Greensted former curator of Cheltenham Museum and Chair of the Gloucestershire Guild of Craftsmen will be talking about Rodmarton Manor, near Tetbury.

You may also be interested that from 8-12 September, Rodmarton Manor will continue its links with the Arts and Crafts tradition by hosting the 2021 Gloucestershire Guild of Craftsmen Crafts Alive Festival.

The Wassail Tradition:

Stroud Wassailer Robin Burton will talk and sing us through the tradition of Wassail practised in England since Anglo Saxon times and common practice in these parts till the middle of the 20th century.
