Attractions & Accommodation

Malmesbury is a beautiful town to visit in its own right and attractions include the jewel in our crown being  MALMESBURY ABBEY,  the fabulous  ABBEY HOUSE GARDENS,  and Malmesbury’s 15th century Market Cross.

Centrally located for visiting other nearby attractions and places of interest such as Bath, Cirencester, Tetbury and the Cotswolds, please see  VISIT ENGLAND and  THIS IS WILTSHIRE, which have a wealth information for visitors to the area.

Malmesbury is also known as the FESTIVAL TOWN because of the wonderfully diverse festivals held in or around the Town during different times of the year. These range from  WOMADBADMINTON,   to Malmesbury’s famous CARNIVAL  with different events held during August each year culminating in a fabulous Carnival parade through the Town.

More information about local attractions and events is available from the Malmesbury Tourist Information Centre.  Please contact the Centre on Tel: 01666 823748 or by EMAIL if you have any further queries, or visit the Tourist Information Centre which is located in the foyer of Malmesbury Town Hall and is open Monday to Friday.  It is also open on Saturdays and Bank Holidays, 10.30am-3.50pm from Easter to end of September.

Help with accommodation is also available from the Tourist Information Centre with information on places to stay locally.

There is a fantastic range of places to dine out locally and Malmesbury Town Hall even has its own informal CINEMA showing recent movies; for more details see  MOVIES @ MALMESBURY.
