Malmesbury Remembers

Due to Covid-19, this year's moving Remembrance Sunday service took place outdoors for the first time, with a poignant reading of the names of the Malmesbury fallen in the two World Wars by Charles Vernon and the sound of birdsong in the still air.

The Royal British Legion, Rev'd Oliver Ross Malmesbury Abbey and Malmesbury Town Council worked together to ensure a safe, socially distanced event could go ahead.

Twelve wreaths were laid on behalf of Her Majesty the Queen, Parliament, Wiltshire and Malmesbury Town Councils, Warden and Freemen, our Armed Forces, Police, Guides, Brownies, Scouts and Cubs and the Royal British Legion in the field of remembrance.
