"I was born in Cardiff in 1948 and finally “came home” to Malmesbury 17 years ago, having lived all over the UK,
I married my second husband, John, in 1998 and between us we have 4 adult children and 7 grandchildren ranging in age from 23 to 6 years. Most of them live here in, or very near, Malmesbury.
I retired from teaching ICT and Sociology at a comprehensive in Cheltenham 3 years ago, and since then I have become a volunteer at the museum, as well as caring for my husband who sadly passed away in May. I have also maintained my contact with the education establishment by working as an invigilator at Malmesbury School.
I have been an active member of the Athelstan Players since 1991, appearing in, or helping with, most of their productions since then. I am secretary to Malmesbury Jazz Society and Clerk to the Warden & Freemen of Malmesbury.
My family and I feel very privileged to live in this wonderful town, and I pledge that I will do my best to maintain its unique character, while at the same time accepting that we must tackle the problems which its special character present, when also letting in the demands of the 21st century."
