This is just a brief note to invite you, your friends and family to attend the Mayor's Medieval Ball on May 31st 2008.
The ball is to help raise funds for the Mayoral Charity, but it’s also a way to say thank you to the people of Malmesbury for their support this year and to let you take a look at the newly refurbished Town Hall. You will be truly amazed at just what a change there has been to the Town Hall, a building which faced closure and boarding up just 2 years ago – which now stands a proud monument to the determination of a Town and Town Council to not let another important piece of Malmesbury’s Heritage fall by the wayside.
The evening will commence at 7pm with the banquette starting at 7.30pm prompt. You will be entertained during the dinner by medieval entertainers, swordsmen, knights, fire breathers, jugglers and musicians. You will be fed three sumptuous courses followed by fine gourmet coffee. There will be an auction of promises including the use of a private villa in deepest France and many more attractive prizes. And the night will finish with dancing to the fabulous Tickled Pink – a band to help you dance your way back to the 21st century, in time for carriages at midnight.
Dress is either medieval fancy dress or black tie. In an effort to help keep costs down, we have arranged a 10% discount with two costume hire firms, just mention that you are attending the Mayor of Malmesbury’s Medieval Ball when you make your enquiry:
