Three days of events and activities have been arranged to commemorate Malmesbury's Victorian MP & balloon enthusiast, Walter Powell. Friday19th May starts the weekend of celebration with a talk from Sir David Hempleman-Adams 'At the mercy of the winds' adventures in ballooning

& James Gray will talk about 'Walter Powell Malmesbury MP' Pioneer Balloonist at the Town Hall. The evening begins at 7pm and tickets are £12.50 to include a glass of wine (students £6), available from the Athelstan Museum. Guided Walking Tours will take place on Saturday 20th May and on Sunday 21st May a re-enactment of the Eclipse Flight from the Cross Hayes in 1881 will lift off at around 6.30pm.For more detailed information about all of the events over the weekend please click here
