I am honoured to have been elected as a Malmesbury Town Councillor in September 2011, as I care very much about our town and the people who live here.
ABOUT ME: I am married to Chris and we have one school age son. I have lived in our special town for over 28 years. After leaving a full time banking career in 1999, I found I had enough spare time to be able to help with a local community group. I soon realised that my work skills and experience would be very useful to them and over the intervening years I have been involved with several other local charities, voluntary groups and associations.
As well as my Town Council work, I also manage St. Mary’s Hall as a community centre for local groups, such as Cubs, Scouts, Brownies, Guides, Cross Hayes Preschool, Malmesbury Carnival and Athelstan Players amongst others. I lead the Town Consultation Group re £100,000 for Youth Facilities and The Elizabeth Hodges Trust for educational funding. Additionally I am part of The Malmesbury School HSA (Home and School Association) and lastly I am Chair of Malmesbury Scouts. I really don't have much 'leisure time' to spare after all this plus my family life! That said however, I very much enjoy everything I am involved with and I have made many great friends in the process.
