Following the success of last years Eilmer 1000 kite festival, we are pleased to repeat the event again this year. Some of last years flyers
will be back again, but we will also be bringing some new displays to showcase the best of British kiteflying talent.See below for last years highlights
In 1010 AD a local monk, Eilmer, studied the local Jackdaws, made himself wings and launched himself from the Abbey tower. He is reputed to have flown for more than 200 yards, making him one of the world’s first aviators.
The Kite festival will be presenting some of the best kite flyers from the UK and Europe.
